Rosemary is a qualified marketer who has almost 30 years experience in commercial development within the tourism and retail sectors. Her understanding of customers, visitor markets, key drivers and trends combined with the desire to satisfy customer needs and expectations, generates the drive, energy and enthusiasm to continuously pursue innovative solutions for generating income in small to medium size organisations.
As a former Tourism and Business Development Manager for a local authority, Rosemary had responsibilty for the town's TIC and Museum, as well as for developing the local visitor economy, working with local tourism businesses.
She has also worked on an interim management basis for Warwick Castle, Coughton Court, Shakespeare Country, and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust. and is currently a Development Board Trustee at Avoncroft Museum.
Her earlier career includes senior roles within the retail sector, notably the Boots Group where she became a key member of the "turn-around" team at its ailing DIY chain, Do It All. As Own Brand Development Manager, she played a major role in repositioning the brand, helping to return the business to profit following 3 years of significant losses. She then moved into a strategic development role, and as Business Analysis Manager was responsible for identifying long-term growth in sales and profitability.
Able to combine practical knowledge of tourism with commercial and retailing best practice, Rosemary has, since 2000, worked extensively with TICs, museums, visitor attractions and tourism partnerships to increase income from their trading activities, improve their shops' performance, negotiate sponsorship deals, and secure grant funding.
Rosemary is a Member of the Tourism Society and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing, awarded by the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 1998.
